John Coombes
|
Job Title: |
Operations Manager |
|
Description of Role: |
The Building Schools for the Future Programme is all about change – for the better. I believe that understanding these fundamental influences is essential to my job. It’s not all about contracts; it’s about working with people. It’s not about disputes: it’s about gaining trust and delivering satisfaction. It’s about creativity and innovation; same challenges, different solutions. My approach to working with our facilities management partners at Babcock who provide the building and grounds maintenance, cleaning, portering and caretaking is one of support and encouragement rather than control and penalty. Behind all of this is my responsibility for performance monitoring and measurement; again, the positive is emphasised so that we learn from our experiences, provide benchmarks as a tool for continuous improvement |
